President Donald Trump is coming to Mesa Oct. 19 for a rally to support U.S. Rep. Martha McSally, the Repbulican nominee for Arizona’s U.S. Senate seat.

Most polling of the race shows McSally slightly trailing U.S. Rep. Kyrsten Sinema, the Democratic nominee, in the race to replace retiring U.S. Sen. Jeff Flake.

Though McSally has represented her Tucson congressional district as a moderate Republican, since becoming a candidate for the Senate, she has closely allied herself with Trump, despite publicly criticizing him in 2016 after a tape of the then-candidate leaked in which he bragged about using his celebrity status to sexually assault women. McSally has also refused to say if she voted for Trump over Hillary Clinton in 2016.

The Trump-McSally rally will be held at 7 p.m. Oct. 19 at 6250 S. Taxiway Circle, near the Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport.
